803 Bishop Higbald of Lindisfarne died

The bishop Highbald of Lindisfarne whom ruled from 780 died on 24 June 803.(F.M Powicke set the date to the 25 May 802). Highbald survived the raid and he wrote letters to Alcuin of York, who was a scholar at the court of Charlemagne; where he complained about the raid on Lindisfarne on 8 January 793 in which his church was looted and many of his monks were captured to be sold as slaves or were drowned at the sea.
