Dannevirke from East Karlegat to West Karlegat

King Godfred strengthened the Dannevirke, he constructed Kovirke, the wall went from sea to sea. The defensive wall should protect the main wall and Hærvejen. Kovirke was ca 2 meter tall and  7 meter in width. The moat in front of the wall was 4 meter in width & 3 meter deep. King Godfred build a shipyard at Aarhus. Swedes had captured Blekinge.
England
The monasteries at Whitby, Hartlepool and Tynemouth were looted by Norwegian vikings. The monasteries on the eastern coast of Northumbria were an easy target for the Vikings too gain lucrative proper loot.
France
Charlemagne travelled to the coastal regions of his Frankish empire, Charlemagne inspected the coastal defences and improve them so that they are they are well prepared if the viking longboats comes to attack. Charlemagne also announced an imperial edict which demanded the creation of a naval force. On December 25, Pope Leo the third crowned Charlemagne as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire in Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome.
